My family moved to Napa when I was 5 years old. I met my best friend that day who lived across the street. I learned spanish at one of the local elementary schools. I biked across town almost every day of my first year of middle school. I attended a charter school for high school that focused on technology and project based learning. I am the person I am today because of the time I spent in that valley and the people I met. As many of you know, Napa and the surrounding valleys have been affected by multiple wildfires that have claimed hundreds of homes and many lives. Most of the time I try to avoid writing anything negative on any social media sites. I find that too many people do that too much of the time. At this time, it felt weird writing about my favorite coffee shop and what I baked the other day when this is all going down. My plan of action is to send good thoughts out to those who are dealing with this crisis, make a donation to an appropriate organization, and keep in mind how lucky I am everyday that those that I love are happy and healthy. Food for thought.
